Meaningful Masculinity: A Mighty Ministry for Men to Reclaim their Theological Manhood

A Mighty Ministry for Men to Reclaim their Theological Manhood

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

Ephesians 4:11-16

About Us:

Our Core Beliefs:

We are a Christian organization focused on the glory of God, the edification of the Church, and the biblical education of Christian males.

Meaningful Masculinity was founded to help believing men understand their God-ordained roles in the Church, in the home, and throughout society. We are here to equip, uplift, and extol meaningful masculinity that the biblical text requires of all males who call upon the name of the Lord.

Meaningful Masculinity targets not just men, but males of all ages who seek the richness and the glory of God’s will and purpose in life. We strive to teach and mentor Christian male youth who have their identity under grievous attack from false theories such as toxic masculinity or gender dysphoria.

This organization is also dedicated to battling the corrosive doctrines and side-effects of theological liberalism (feminism) that has infiltrated the twenty-first-century church and stripped God-fearing men of their biblical mandate: to fear God and not women.

“Command and teach these things. Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.”

1 Timothy 4:11-16

Biblical Manhood

Meaningful Masculinity advocates a complementarian position pertaining to men in the home and in the Church. This includes a biblical mandate that all Christian fathers are required to care for, financially support, educate, and mentor their offspring regardless of marital status. In addition, we champion a sexually restrained position where Christian males lead by respecting, adoring, and protecting their female counterparts with reverence to their intrinsic imago dei status endowed by our creator.

Bible Study/Teaching

Meaningful Masculinity calls upon and facilitates localized faith-based ministries where male believers congregate regularly to study God’s word in order to fulfill the great commission. We partner with local churches and parachurch organizations to provide educational seminars, bible studies, and discipleship groups that edify the church and exhort men to better understand and fulfill his position in the church, in his home, and across society.

Youth Development

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Heart/Spirit

Biblically obedient men are tasked to walk in Christ-like love toward our neighbors as we further progress in a saving relationship with the Lord. This requires living a sacrificial life of worship and praise, reading the scriptures, and communing with God through prayer. These are the basic sanctifying steps toward eventually resurrected glorification with Jesus Christ.

Soul/Mind

Biblically obedient men are always growing in knowledge, wisdom, and biblical education. True Christian men never stop strengthening our minds as we serve one another and worship our Lord. Real masculinity embraces the reality that scripture supports the never-ending endeavor to expand our minds as we grow in Christ-like love.

Strength/Body

Biblically obedient men understand that the Bible warns us of the sins associated with slothfulness and gluttony. As disciples of Christ men are required to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, wholly acceptable to God. This includes, and is not limited to, healthy eating, physical fitness, sexual morality, and self-responsibility in regard to healing and self-care.

“But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:13-17

Prolegomena

Follow our various articles, blogs, and commentaries on theological manhood in society and the Church:

“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.”

James 2:14-26

This organization is proud to announce the establishment of our very first national chapter: Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland has a wonderful history that is all too often maligned in the media and in Hollywood. Established on July 22, 1796; Cleveland was founded by the Connecticut Land Company when surveyors laid out Connecticut’s Western Reserve into townships and a capital city they named “Cleaveland” after their leader, General Moses Cleaveland. In January 6, 1831, the Cleveland Advertiser dropped the “a” from Cleveland, most likely for spatial issues concerning the newspaper’s masthead, thus the spelling we use today.

Take a look at what Meaningful Masculinity is doing with the great men for the city Cleveland and the surrounding townships, churches, and families.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Statements of Faith & Theological Positions

The Ten Commandments – Exodus 20:1-17
And God spoke all these words, saying,
“I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery.
You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”
